A mother’s touch has deserved a special day for centuries

In the 1600s a clerical decree in England established Mothering Day. During this Lenten Sunday, servants and trade workers were allowed to travel back to their towns of origin to visit their families. Mothers were presented with cakes and flowers, as well as a visit from their beloved and distant children.

Over 400 years of tradition can’t be wrong, so don’t let Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 13 go by without the fanfare your mother deserves.

Flowers, chocolates and other gifts are all strongly recommended as gestures to show your mom just how much you love and appreciate her. But possibly the best gift? Freeing her from the role of chef. This is where our long-standing tradition of our Mother’s Day Brunch comes in.

Chef Donald Burns will prepare a decadent buffet of pastries, salads and entrees and carving stations that feature Roasted Garlic & Black Pepper Prime Rib with au jus, Citrus Brined Pork Loin with maple balsamic glaze and port cherries, and Tuna Tataki with sesame soy sauce and wakame salad.
