Albuquerque Downtown Summerfest 2013
If there is one place that knows how to celebrate summer, it’s Albuquerque. The Downtown Summerfest celebrates this year with plenty of music, food, and drink for everyone to enjoy.
Summerfest is all about having a great time and is hosted at the Civic Plaza where you can wander from one spot to the next and check out all the things that Albuquerque has to offer. There are local artisans showcasing their goods in a wide range of items and skills. You can try foods of all types, from wild and spicy to warm and happy. There are also a lot of children’s activities to see that kids aren’t left out and can have a great time as well.
What great Summerfest would be without a beer garden? This year the garden will feature some truly tasty brews from labels such as Broken Bottle, Bosque Brewing, La Cumbre, Il Vicino, and Santa Fe Spirits Distillery. Sample dark, rich beers, or simply enjoy a light, summery ale. There’s bound to be a drink for every palate.
Music is a must-have at the Downtown Summerfest, and the featured entertainers are ready to get everyone grooving and rocking. This year you can plan on seeing and hearing Brown Sugar, The Blue Ventures, Sabor, and Ozomatli. Groups are local as well as national, giving you a chance to sample all kinds of different musical flavors.
Downtown Summerfest takes place on August 3rd, so if you haven’t booked your trip to Albuquerque yet, now is the time to start planning. It’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday. Stop by for your preferred musical guest, or head out for the entire day to see everything there is to see and celebrate summer like the locals do each and every year. How can you go wrong with great food, entertainment, and amusements?
