9th Annual Old Town Salsa Fiesta
Are you ready for all things salsa? From dancing taste buds to dancing feet, Albuquerque is set to celebrate it’s 9th Annual Salsa Fiesta, held in Old Town on September 14th. So who makes the best salsa in Albuquerque? It’s always a tough competition, and every year it heats up even more!
There are always a huge number of contestants, but don’t let that stop you from tasting and voting! It only costs a few dollars to do so, and it is well worth it for the amazing variety that you can try as you stroll through Old Town trying salsa after salsa. Sounds amazing already, doesn’t it? After all, who doesn’t love salsa? Some are absolutely full of heat, while others might try to play to your mellower salsa side. Ultimately, the public will choose the winner of the best salsa in the city! Delicious!
Of course, what would a salsa fiesta be without salsa music and dancing? All throughout the day salsa music will be played throughout Old Town. That means as you walk – or salsa – through Old Town, you’ll be walking in rivers of salsa music as they wash down the streets. The Gazebo acts as a central meeting point for all the bands. Later in the evening you can see live dance performances, and at the end of the day, the winner of the best salsa in Albuquerque will be announced. Will it be your favorite? There’s only one way to find out!
So much salsa is enough to bring almost anyone to the city. The vibrancy, the flavors, and the electric excitement that will run through Old Town won’t be like anything you’ve experienced before or will again (unless, of course, you come back next year!). Try something new with the Salsa Fiesta – your mouth, stomach, and heart will all thank you.
