Albuquerque Wine Festival
Though wine may not be one of the first things people think of when they hear the name Albuquerque, it is certainly something that locals get excited about, and something that they wish to share with visitors every year.
This year the Albuquerque Wine Festival falls on Memorial Day weekend – an ideal time because many people have additional days off from work, giving them the chance to get out and visit the Wine Festival. People can experience the rich atmosphere of the city of Albuquerque as they sample not just wine, but also various foods, arts, crafts, and entertainment. There’s a little something for everyone, so once you’ve finished visiting all the different wine vendors around, there’s still more to do!
The Wine Festival is set up at Balloon Fiesta Park, so there is plenty of room for people to mingle and relax as they sample wine and view live music. You can also buy bottles of wine to take home with you, so if you find your new favorite wine, be sure to purchase it! There will be 22 wineries attending the festival, so take your time – you have all weekend to taste them all!
Admission to the festival is $20 for adults, and this also includes a souvenir wine glass. Remember to have a photo ID with you. Those under the age of 21 can come to the festival for free, but must be accompanied by an adult. On Memorial Day (May 26th), there will be a $3 discount for anyone currently active in the military.
The Wine Festival is an excellent way to kick off summer – so get ready for some fun!
