Albuquerque Latin Dance Festival
Haven’t had enough dancing? Or perhaps you haven’t had any yet? Whatever the case may be, August 21st-24th means the Albuquerque Latin Dance Festival is on, and it’s going to be a hot time in the city.
The Albuquerque Latin Dance Festival features a wide variety of events that go beyond just dancing. While dancing is indeed the main focus, it simply cannot exist without the partnership of music and new dancers. Performances by professionals will wow audiences as musicians and bands play their hearts out, either to give dancers their backdrop or to entertain those looking for excellent music.
Learning how to dance is also a big part of this festival, and professionals host various workshops to give people a taste of the dance floor. There are over 40 workshops that cover an amazing array of Latin dances – Salsa, Bachata, Tango, Mambo, Flamenco, Baile, and more. Workshops can start at the beginner level or a professional level, depending upon what you are looking for.
Events, vendors, and more are still being put together, so you should always check the website before making any final plans. You can also get your tickets early so you don’t have to worry about buying them on site. If you decide not to take a workshop, don’t worry – there are competitions to watch, live DJs, and so much more. Hosted at the National Hispanic Cultural Center and Old Town in Albuquerque, it’s easy to slip it into your adventures as you experience the city and all it has to offer.
