Music is not only the food of love but also the heart and rhythm of Albuquerque’s Old Town in the spring and summer months. The New Mexico Jazz Workshop brings local, regional and national talent to the stage at the Albuquerque Museum Amphitheater on Friday and Saturday nights, May 30th through August 9th. And in a very special event, the Buddy Rich Big Band Alumni Tribute concert will hit the stage at the historic Kimo Theater on June 1st.
Started in 1976, the New Mexico Jazz Workshop has helped teach and mentor hundreds of young musicians and brought educational and musical programs to schools and other institutions in an effort to improve the lives of New Mexicans.
On Friday nights at the museum amphitheater you’ll be treated to Salsa Under the Stars and on Saturdays it is Jazz Under the Stars. Lots of latin music and dancing, food and fun and one of the best ways to spend a warm New Mexican night.
