Boutique hotel offers exclusive artist meet and greet, art and wine dinner, accommodations and more

Albuquerque, New Mexico June 26, 2013

Hotel Andaluz in Downtown Albuquerque, recently named one of the top hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveler, is offering an Art in Residence package to guests for one weekend only this July. On Saturday, July 20th, the hotel will be hosting Beals & Abbate Fine Art of Santa Fe and special guest artist Michael Peralta for an art-inspired evening.

Priced at $249 per night, the package includes several exclusive features, including premium accommodations for two, a welcome amenity, two drink tickets for the artist meet and greet, and reservations for two at the art and wine dinner on July 20th. The meet and greet will be held on the rooftop of Ibiza, the hotel’s bar and patio overlooking the Albuquerque sky and mountains, and dinner will feature local wines from Albuquerque-based Gruet Winery.

“We enjoy incorporating local businesses, foods, arts and tradition into our overnight packages, so we’re especially excited to partner with Beals & Abbate Fine Art and sculptor Michael Peralta,” said Martin Valdez, Marketing Manager at Hotel Andaluz. “It’s our goal to give our guests the true Albuquerque experience, and we think this package will do just that.”

Beals & Abbate currently represents 22 artists in their gallery; seven sculptors and 15 painters. The gallery focuses on contemporary works, and features paintings, sculpture, woodworks, photography and mixed media. Beals & Abbate has represented Peralta’s sculptures for the past two years, and will be showing his work indefinitely, as he is one of the gallery’s premier stable of artists.

“We are excited to feature Michael Peralta’s sculptures at the Hotel Andaluz,” said Bobby Beals, co-owner of Beals & Abbate Fine Art. “Both Peralta and the hotel have a unique style, both are elegant and both illustrate a love for quality.”

Peralta, a native New Mexican, is a self-taught artist and has been a professional sculptor since 2004. Through his artwork, Peralta explores the realm of the figure evoking a classical representational style with contemporary lines and angles. His work is becoming highly recognized and widely collected. He has had exhibits at galleries in New Mexico, Ohio, Kansas and Colorado.

“I hope people can take away from my work an appreciation for the figure and all that’s communicated without words,” said Peralta.
